I kneel down to be eye to eye with him
This child with the gigantic innocent smile
His skin is tan from summer days at the pool and beach
His pjs are rumpled; his eyes morning-bright.
His little arms swing around my neck …. like God.
My heart soars and melts all at the same time.
He needs me to know what he needs
And he doesn’t even think to doubt it
I kneel down to be eye to eye with this child.
Jesus told us to have faith like him
Kneeling
Drops us to the place where we can see more
Lord, today may I see more of what you see.

Beautiful! And I LOVE this background. Thanks for putting yourself out here in cyberspace, Suzy. You’ve created a welcoming space.

Suzy, so many writers try to wax eloquent or poetic and end up saying nothing. You say so much and the eloquence of your writing is so natural, like great icing on an already delicious cake! Makes me want to work harder at my writing.

I was also taken by that last line. I see this is nearly a year old, but the message is timeless.
