Living Vertically,  Our Kids, Our Family

Commands Equal Love

We leave for our seven day trip to Portland Oregon to visit Erik’s school and see two Multnomah Lions basketball games!  Since I’m outnumbered without Steve, we begin with a reminder of the instructions that are important for a six year old to hear regularly.

[box] Stay close. We’ll be in crowded places and sometimes having to move quickly to meet our departures. Most importantly, never leave a room without me. Don’t walk through a door unless I am at your side. Ask me before you dash off to see something that’s caught your eye. I love you and want to keep you protected and near. [/box]

As I speak these commands to my precious Jack, and hope they bounce off my 13 year old extra-wise Riley, I know that they are the same commands our Creator gives to us, from a heart of love beyond what we can imagine.  Doesn’t that feel so right?

P.S.:  We’ll try to travel light, but sometimes our luggage weighs us down
