Living Vertically,  The Mystery of Marriage

How Dare He.

I’ll be clear.

For approximately 22.2 years I’ve been planning to write a book. (You, too?)   Now in my 40-something, fabulous, post-transformation healthier place, I’m endeavoring to bring that dream to life. It’s going to be great.

I quit not-one-but-two fairly big jobs. (Ok, one was bigger than the other.) And now I humbly devote myself to balancing my time to
consulting (read: earning),
family nurturing (delighting),
and my passion (writing the funny and poignant memoir).

I write and outline and blog and network and discover and connect.

So what’s the problem, you ask?

Well.  Get this.
Fabulous Husband has a new assignment from his John Townsend leadership coaching program to write … (wait for it)….. an autobiography.

He sits down to his ipad and keyboard and within the span of two very long days and complete focus, he is writing an autobiography. Right in front of ME.

He laughs, “Sorry, it’s due on Monday!”How rude is that?!

Right.

The façade of my enthusiastic support masks my true disgust for his total lack of respect for the art of crafting a REAL story that surely would take much longer and require much more thought and pondering and distraction …..

I’m sure it’ll need editing.

An autobiography is much easier than a memoir.  Memoir is French.

Keep up the good work…I love what you write! It’s a talent I don’t have and envy your ability to make it seem so natural to write your thoughts and make others feel what you say 🙂 Envy is wrong, but honest! Miss all of you.

You are hilarious! I got here through random links on Twitter. A couple of my friends, Celeste Barnard and Erin Szczerba follow you. Your short bio drew me in: West Coast Michigan (my favorite place ON EARTH!) and “Scandalous Christian.” This is good stuff that resonates with women who are seeking “real and authentic.” I’ve been writing my book now for over 30 years, except really for only 2 months and in those two months, it’s really only worked out for me to write 3 days…my husband got published in a devotional for Compassion Intl in 30 minutes. It’s totally rude 😉 And yes, it’s French, so a memoir is much more difficult…that’s what I’ll start telling myself. Thanks for the encouragement to keep plugging away.
