Breathing In… and Breathing Out

Today I commit to getting it all pulled together.  There are thousands of pages  written down.  Decades of journals, outlines, individual thoughts and attempts to write the book.  Or is it a screenplay?  Yes, write that.  It’ll be funny and captivating and compelling and make people cry. No, it’s fiction.  Write that. There are three books; here are the synopses.  Characters who live the life and convey the thoughts, but in a story that gets shared as summer reading and book clubs. Wise sister said: “Dear, if it’s truth, it will be yours and you will be able to keep growing with it.” She’s right, of course. Did I Miss Something?

My reticular activator might be offline for maintenance.  Perhaps it’s “normal” for us to have what seems like obvious connections in our deeper mind and heart but we ourselves don’t intellectually see the connection until our reticular activator gets the message…. sometime much later.   Which probably isn’t technically how the RA works.  Hmmm. I know I have certain realities tucked away in my baggage, and old paradigms that, if allowed, will block the obvious signs of God’s voice on my life.  Isn’t that the problem? Intentional Rhythm

We did it. All kids are all in school.  Even, presumably, the two in college; and the tallest one who’s in North Carolina. I now sit with this moment that I’ve projected tasks into for weeks.  “When school starts I will have more structured time to get done what I need to get done.”  Often said in the context of getting together with important people… and working a new family budget… and exercise.  So here it is.  The moment. I hit my knees and listen to Amazing Grace (my theme song! A gift of the moment on Pandora) and let myself become absorbed in the grace and guidance of God’s Holy Spirit.
