Living Vertically,  Our Kids, Our Family

Now That’s Worship

SUNDAY MORNING JULY 1, 2012

I thought we’d know by now. I expected to have more clarity, to have finished more, to have a better understanding of the next step.

For it is in this hope that we are saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.*

Ahhh yes.  Patiently.  It seems that we are always waiting for something, right? Waiting for an answer, waiting for our worry or pain to go away, waiting for our kids to listen (ha), waiting for our friend to heal, waiting for something better to happen that gives us an easier path.

Today, I choose to make my anticipation be my worship.  I release the desire for a certain outcome, and focus my desire on discerning God’s direction for our life.

Manna for today.

And today’s manna, on this magnificent gift of a crystal clear, calm and warm Sunday morning,
just might be to worship Him in my not knowing.
Let me not miss this gift.

Settle my heart on the joy of knowing that He knows …and that’s enough.

That’s worship.

How Great Thou Art. Then sings my soul. We have so much joy in our families if we just choose that place of joy … and focus.  Even in death we have His assurance of peace.

Right now I release my anticipation, my expectations for certain things to come. And I worship God above for what He is giving me, right now in this hour of submission. I feel it shift inside of me; my heart softens.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.*

Now that is truly what I want.

Now, since I whet your appetite, go ahead and watch it.. you know you want to!
